On June 8th, BCIS hosted the second annual Rockfest X Beijing Runway Fashion Show, which wrapped up the school year. The event celebrated the ingenuity and talent of the students all across Beijing on rock n’roll music as well as fashion design.
在六月八日这天，北京乐成国际学校举办了第二届2018年度摇滚节X天桥时装夜，来作为学年的一个收尾。这个活动给予了全北京国际学校的学生一个展示自己对时装或是摇滚音乐的才华以及热衷的机会。
It was a night of crazy beats —— astonishing music that wiped the audiences’ eardrum, as well as exceptional fashion design that amazed not only the judges, but also everyone who was present. Bands from international schools all over Beijing arrived at BCIS to celebrate the night; their performances were spectacular and lighted up the show —— they truly gave Rock n’ Roll a new definition.
这是个不眠夜－－席卷观众耳膜的音乐，以及非同一般的时尚设计－－不仅仅令评委耳目一新，也令在场的所有人赞叹不已。来自北京各个国际学校的乐队来到了BCIS来庆祝这个夜晚，他们的表演令在场的观众震撼，也确实让现场激情燃烧－－他们给予了“摇滚”一个全新的定义。
As the atmosphere was occupied by the shimmers that the rock bands sparkled, the Project Runway began. The fashion show was also no less amazing than the Rockfest. Judges commented that the designs as well as the tailoring, showcased skills and brilliance way beyond their expectation for secondary school students, they were truly astonished by the quality of the work presented on the show.
在干燥的空气逐渐被摇滚音乐点燃后，天桥时装秀开始了，而时装秀丝毫不比摇滚节逊色。评委们给予了相当高的评价，他们说这些服装不论从设计或是剪裁成衣上都展现了远高于一个中学生所应该具备的才华以及能力，并被秀上的这些作品的水平所震撼。
At last, the judges’ choice award and the audiences’ choice award all went to our very own BCIS Grade 11 students; the former went to Amy Zhang and Alice Du, and the latter went to Beryl Chan, which certifies their hard work and high achievements in fashion design and tailoring. It is also notable that half of the earnings from the night will go into the music department budget for the BCIS students to further pursue their passion in music in the future. We are proud to see that most of the designs and the bands came from our own BCIS students. Their passion for fashion and rock music really sparked fire and inspiration in the early summer night.
最后，荣获评委奖以及观众选择奖的都是BCIS的十一年级学生，分别是Amy Zhang, Alice Du荣获前者，而Beryl Chan荣获后者，这表彰了他们在时装设计上付出的心血以及杰出成就。值得一提的是，在此次活动中挣的钱将有一半给予音乐部作为明年的预算，也是为了BCIS的学生能够更好地追求自己的音乐梦想。此外，BCIS的学生们在此次活动中表现十分积极，他们对时尚以及摇滚的热情的在初夏的夜晚燃起了火花。
“The work was exceptional,” the audience commented, “both the music and the fashion show, the variety of the designs and the level of professionalism the bands performed with are all astonishing. Look forward to next year’s event!”
“他们的作品十分杰出，”一位观众这样点评，“不论是音乐还是时装秀，设计的多样性以及这些摇滚乐队的专业性都十分令人震惊。我期待明年的活动！”
A special thanks to the Student Council, Ms. Parker, PM, and all the organizers of the Beijing Runway Project. Without them, this event would not even have happened nor run this smoothly.
